I Love Make Up
I am a daughter, a sister, a wife and a mother and you can bet I love all things beauty and make up related – I can talk about it all day. With this interactive website, I can now talk about make up with you even when I sleep.
Once Upon A Time I Hated Make Up
Well for me my passion for hair and makeup did not start as you would expect, from a young age. I hated my hair being pulled and tugged by my mum. I felt slightly embarrassed of her lipstick blobs on my cheeks which she would smudge to act as blusher and paint nail varnish over my nails so it would appear my nails were long….oh no! If this was you when you were young, trust me, I can relate. Yes, I hated make up when I was young.
Things Began To Change
It wasn’t until later in life when I started taking care of myself, I truly appreciated what my mum was trying to achieve. Like any mother she just wanted the very best for me, she wanted her little girl to look stunning and stand out in a crowd, and she certainly managed this in her own weird and wonderful way.
I developed a passing interest in make up, then a liking, which developed into a love. I got so many requests from friends and family to do their engagement or bridal make up. Make up parties were great fun.
Why Use Make Up
As women we are very fortunate, we have access to hundreds and thousands of products which allow us to significantly change our appearance or enhance our beauty.
For some it is a necessity to cover up imperfections, scars, birthmarks and so on. For many, good hair and make up is important to build our confidence and self-esteem. For many others, grooming ourselves is fun and exciting it helps us stand out in a crowd. In fact this becomes even more vital when you want to get married and the quest for bridal beauty, bridal make up, bridal hair, bridal henna starts.
Whatever your reasons there is no doubt that as females it is an obligation on us not to deprive ourselves from an expanding beauty industry which is always changing for the best with advancing technology.
When I Got Married
There are many occasions that stand out in my mind and none more so then one of the most important days in any girl’s life and that is her wedding day … I was a bride in the days when the auntie jees would do most of the cooking, families would serve on the wedding day and plastic disposable utensils would be used. There were few wedding magazines like there are now. The internet was just emerging – so there was very little in way of online advice. Consultations were unheard of – so I went along with a beautician that was recommended. I don’t think my beautician had any knowledge of the type of make up she needed to apply in terms of lighting at the venue or how to apply make up in a way which best suites lighting for photography. The make up applied was good but if I could go back, I would do things differently so I can look back knowing I looked the best I could.

I done my professional training with the “maestro of the beauty industry” Jyoti Tagliani otherwise known as JOSHIV from Joshiv Beauty International. I received one to one personal training from JOSHIV herself who is a fully qualified beautician with over 22 years experience in the beauty industry. Her work is often on the front covers of the best fashion magazines – like Asiana Magazine.
